Organizers of the 16th PAA Conference in Zanzibar will follow TanzanianCDC, and WHO health regulations regarding COVID-19. The United Republic of Tanzania continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic by imposing various regulations including vaccination and PCR and rapid testing in all international airports and major tourist destinations. The organizers of the 16th Pan African Congress in Zanzibar will continue to provide the most updated information to conference participants on the COVID situation in the country, including transmission mitigation, tests, and evacuation information. The recommended hotels have shown evidence of complying with international COVID-19 regulations. More updated information about required pre-travel COVID-19 testing and ground transportation will be updated here and from time to time.

We are pleased to announce that Tanzania received the first batch of over 1 million Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines on Saturday, July 24, 2021, as part of the COVAX agreement, and the vaccination campaign in Tanzania officially began when Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan received a shot of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine on live television on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. The Health Minister has also received half a million Sinopharm vaccines as well as almost the same amount of Pfizer vaccine.
